East Goshen Supervisors Swearing-In Ceremony

The East Goshen Board of Supervisors will be sworn in on Tuesday, January 2, and East Goshen Democrats will be there to witness the swearing-in of our newly elected member, Barbara Emery. We invite all East Goshen Dems to join us, as Barbara takes over from David Shuey as the only Democrat on the Board. And we thank David for his six years of dedicated and effective service to the people of East Goshen as a Board member. (See our calendar or the Board of Supervisors website for details.)

Congratulations, WCASD Directors!

Congratulations to our West Chester Area School Board Directors, who were sworn in at the Board’s annual organizational meeting on December 4! They included newly re-elected members Gary Bevilacqua, Alex Christy, Daryl Durnell, Katherine Frey, and Karen Herrmann along with the four continuing members. Pictured here are (l-r) Directors Gary Bevilacqua, Laura Detre, Karen Fleming (president), Daryl Durnell, Alex Christy, Joyce Chester, Karen Herrmann, Katherine Frey, and Superintendent David Christopher. We're Celebrating Today!

Today is a day for celebration! According to unofficial results* of yesterday’s election, PA and Chester County Democrats pretty much swept all races, headed by Dan McCaffery for PA Supreme Court and Marian Moskowitz and Josh Maxwell for County Commissioners. All 5 of our county judicial candidates won too: Sarah Black, Judge Nicole Forzato, Fredda Maddox, Thomas McCabe, and Deb Ryan.

Here in East Goshen, Barbara Emery has a good lead for second place in the Supervisor race, meaning she will claim one of the two open seats on the Board. We are especially thrilled that she carried HM precincts 4, 5, 8, and 9 outright. Congratulations Barbara!

We are also grateful that our two incumbent School Board Directors, Daryl Durnell and Karen Herrmann, will continue in office to fight the good fight for public education.

Finally, we want to thank our dedicated Democratic volunteers for helping out as greeters and poll watchers yesterday and in many ways throughout the year, and every EG voter who supported our candidates, whether by mail or in person. Our campaign was a fine example of what democracy can and should be, thanks to all of you!
